Lesson on How to Teach Multiple Grades
Our role as parents is to guide each child to the Quran. There, they will find all the answers to their burning questions.
Let's start by listening to Suratul Baqarah #2, Ayah 164, to answer today's question.
How to teach your Child to find Answers in the Quran
● Tell your child to open the Book from right to left. Show them Surah Fatiha is the first Surah.
● Tell them, "Go to Surah Baqarah. It is the second Surah in the Quran."
● Tell them, "Now follow the Ayah numbers until you reach 164." Congratulate them when they do.
● Read the English/Arabic together.
● Note it starts with, "In the *_creation_* of the heavens and earth."
"Creation" means someone made something. It didn't happen by itself.
🚗 🏡🌳
Explain that every car is made by a manufacturer and every house is made by a construction company and every painting is made by an artist. (Ask them to list more examples).
Likewise, every creation is made by a creator, and Allah is the Creator.
In this Ayah, Allah lists examples of things He created. (Ask your child to list them).
Allah concludes the Ayah that these examples are signs for *smart people* who use their brains. They know that if we exist, then our Creator exists, because He made us!
Ask them, "If the best scientist in the world can't make that connection between creation and Creator, Would you consider him to be *smart*?" (No)
ASSIGNMENT:
Have the child write, draw, photograph, or make a diorama illustrating Allah's creation that is listed in the Ayah.
Now, if you have older students, the discussion will get deeper.
In grade 9 Science and onwards, students learn about the four spheres of the earth in detail. They are:
1. The atmosphere (air)
2. The biosphere (life)
3. The hydrosphere (water)
4. The lithosphere (land)
Ask the older students to examine the video and the Ayah (2:164) again
There is something AMAZING in the Ayah!
It contains the 4 Spheres of the earth!
Have the students fill in the blanks according to the sphere that is being described repeatedly.
Before teaching this lesson, try to label it yourself without peeking at the answers!
Notice there is a pattern that repeats twice:
Atmosphere
Hydrosphere
Lithosphere
Biosphere
